White Burgundy (Bourgogne) is one of the world's classic beverages — with a style that California aspires to imitate but seldom gets just right. (When it does, the results can be amazing). There aren't that many white Burgundies that offer both classic style and an affordable price. This is one that delivers — with excellent balance, hints of apple, lemon and nuts and a subtle toasty quality. It's a lighter style, hardly a blockbuster, but it works on many levels.
