Everyman Theatre's pairing series will return for its 2017-2018 season.

The theater's "Taste of Everyman" series, which launched in 2015, pairs food and drinks with the theme of its shows.

The first pairing of the season, Edible Insects, will offer patrons crispy bugs to go with Everyman's "M. Butterfly" performance Sept. 14. Mom's Organic Market will supply the edible insects, and Clavel will whip up bug-laced cocktails.

Everyman Theatre's cast has an energetic romp through the vintage British farce "Noises Off."

Local foodie Amy Langrehr, also known as the Charm City Cook, will lead the second tasting, Classified Cravings, on Oct. 26, sampling dishes from Dylan's Oyster Cellar, Ekiben and other local restaurants, along with local craft beer. The tasting session will precede Everyman's "Intimate Apparel" show.

And on Dec. 14, paired with a performance of "The Revolutionists," Battle of the Female Bartenders will pit bartenders Chelsea Gregoire of Ida B's Table, Pam Haner of W.C. Harlan and Amie Ward of R. Bar against each other in a competition judged by the audience. Sweet and savory cake bites will also be served.

Each tasting begins at 6 p.m. on the theater's second floor at 315 W. Fayette St., with shows following at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, available on Everyman's website, are $60, which includes admission to the show.
