For baseball fans in Baltimore, today is more than Opening Day — it’s an unofficial holiday.
So local bars and restaurants prepare accordingly, opening in the wee hours for morning parties and offering drink specials for before, during and after the game. Alewife: The beer bar will open early at 10 a.m., and will offer Flying Dog Blood Mary Ale and mimosas on draft for $5 each. Game: The sports bar near the stadiums will team up with radio station 98 Rock for their second (and free) Opening Day Festival, starting at 6 a.m. There will be a complimentary breakfast buffet from 6 a.m.-10 a.m., and the festival begins afterward. JD’s Smokehouse: The Canton corner bar will open early at 11 a.m., and offer $10 domestic beer buckets, $5 crushes, $5 Jameson shots, $2 National Bohemians and 10 wings for $10. 623 S. Luzerne Ave., Canton. 410-522-2266.
Lee’s Pint & Shell: The Canton bar will open early at 11 a.m., and will offer $5 orange crushes, $5 Smirnoff orange bombs and $2 National Bohemian tallboy cans from open until 7 p.m. 2844 Hudson St., Canton, 410-327-2883, leespintandshell.com.
