Diplo, Marshmello, Vince Staples and more to perform at Moonrise Festival in August

Moonrise Festival — the two-day, electronic dance music-focused event occurring Aug. 11-12 at Pimlico Race Course — will feature performances from producers/DJs Diplo, DJ Snake, Kaskade and Marshmello, along with rappers like Vince Staples and Action Bronson.

Announced on the festival’s Facebook page this afternoon, the lineup also includes notable artists including Excision, Griz, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Phantogram and more. The Facebook post announcing the Phase 1 lineup can be found below.

The lineup announcement continues Moonrise’s path of marrying electronic dance music and its many subgenres with touches of rap music.

Last year’s festival — which also took place at the race course over two days in August — had performances by Afrojack, Lil Uzi Vert, Porter Robinson, Big Gigantic and more. Migos, the popular rap trio from Atlanta, were scheduled to perform but canceled before taking the stage due to inclement weather. (For my take on the last year’s festival, click here.)

More artists for this year’s Moonrise will be announced in May, according to the Facebook page. Tickets are on sale now at moonrisefestival.com.
