Bistro Rx, a corner bar and restaurant located in the Patterson Park neighborhood, will close this spring as it transitions to new ownership.

Bistro Rx owner Wayne Mahaffey said Thursday he’s hopeful the new owners, “some neighbors in Patterson Park,” will be in charge of the space by early April. He said Bistro Rx would remain open in the evenings until Feb. 16, and would then only open for Saturday and Sunday brunch hours until new ownership completely takes over.

Mahaffey, who opened the bar seven years ago, said he was ready to hand the space over to a new team. He declined to give the new owners’ names because the deal had not been finalized.

“It’s just not for me anymore,” Mahaffey said. “It’s just time for me to move on.”

Mahaffey believes the space is due for a rebrand, but said that decision is ultimately up to the next owners.

Located at 2901 E. Baltimore St., Bistro Rx is having an inventory reduction sale, effective immediately. All liquor and glasses of wine are $5, draft beer and craft beer bottles are $4 and all bottles of wine cost $20 at most.

Mahaffey also owns Mahaffey’s Pub, the beer bar in Canton. He said he has no plans to sell that bar.
