It’s been three years since Baltimore Whiskey Co. began distilling its first whiskey. And now, after three years aging in oak barrels, Epoch Rye is ready to drink.

The 100-proof rye will be released from the Remington distillery March 17, and it will be available in stores, bars and restaurants throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Baltimore Whiskey Co. is building a state of the art geothermal system for its new distillery at Union Collective in Medfield.

Made from 70 percent rye grain and 30 percent rye malt, the whiskey carries notes of clove, cinnamon, vanilla, honey and tropical fruit.

Its release comes ahead of Baltimore Whiskey Co.’s expansion. The distillery is among the tenants that will join the Union Collective in Medfield when the manufacturing and retail hub opens this spring.
