Founders of Heavy Seas and Samuel Adams wager beer for Ravens vs. Patriots

The competitive nature of win-or-go-home playoff games tends to be contagious. Just ask Hugh Sisson and Jim Koch, two founders of beer companies willing to put their hometown pride — and some beer — on the line.

Just as they did for the 2013 AFC Championship game between the Ravens and the Patriots, Heavy Seas Beer founder Sisson and Boston Beer Company/Samuel Adams founder Koch have placed a wager on Saturday's game, according to Heavy Seas spokeswoman Christine Shaffer.

If the Ravens win, as they did two years ago, Koch will send Sisson a case of Samuel Adams Rebel IPA. If the Patriots are victorious, Sisson will send Koch a case of Heavy Seas' new CrossBones IPA.

A couple of years ago, Sisson issued a similar challenge to Koch via email. (The only difference were the beers — Heavy Seas' Loose Cannon and Samuel Adams' Boston Lager.)
