For many of us, the weekend of Christmas will be spent catching "Home Alone 2" on TV, the NBA season starting, football and spending time with family (for better or worse). So yeah, it's not really about heading out to the club for live music, but if you feel inclined, you're in luck.
Our pick for this weekend is the Cris Jacobs Band at the 8x10 on Friday. Jacobs, fresh off ending his Baltimore institution the Bridge at Rams Head Live last month, has moved on to a new project.
Mike Gambone, the Bridge's former drummer, will join his long-time collaborator behind the kit, but the rest of the band is new. Bridge fans should find plenty to like with Jacobs' latest band — this isn't his experimental techno-witch-house side-project, but more a nautral step following the Bridge's folk-blues-rock hybrid.
Baltimore's Dropping Sully (ex-LUCA and Wordswork & Cadre) will also perform. Tickets, after that pesky Ticketmaster surcharge, are $19.90 and available here.
