Vino Rosina to close

The Harbor East wine bar and restaurant Vino Rosina will close on July 20. But the ownership team, led by Jim Lancaster, is already planning a follow-up concept for the Bagby building space.

Vino Rosina opened in the spring of 2010 with "Top Chef" alumna Jesse Sandlin as executive chef. Sandlin left Vino Rosina within a year of its opening, but she came back. And it was Sandlin who sent out word of the restaurant's closing in an email announcement.

"We will be closing Vino Rosina at the end of the month," Sandlin wrote. "It's been a great three-year run, but we've decided to go in a different direction, and hence will be closing our doors. We'll be offering several food and wine specials throughout the month as a thank you to all of our friends and followers. A new concept will be opening in the Vino location; stay tuned for details."

Sandlin said that she will be part of a new concept that Lancaster is planning for the Vino Rosina space.
