Local bagel shop THB opening Charles Village location

In the premiere episode of Food Faceoff, Capital Gazette reporter Christina Jedra takes us on a quest around Anne Arundel County to find her favorite bagel. As a New Jersey native, she's a self described "Bagel Snob," and she won't rest until she finds a bagel that reminds her of home. (Ulysses Munoz and Christina Jedra / BSMG)

THB Bagels & Deli, the local bagel chain formerly known as Towson Hot Bagels, will open a fourth location at a new student housing complex in Charles Village.

The new shop is opening on the ground floor of the apartment building at the intersection of St. Paul and 33rd streets. It's on track to open by the end of the year, according to Mackenzie Commercial Real Estate.

The 2,700-square-foot store will showcase a new layout for THB locations, part of the chain's rebranding efforts as it looks to grow. In conjunction with its growth, the bagel shop is also developing a new app, ordering system and menu.

THB also has locations in Towson, Canton and Timonium, and more are in the works. The company is looking for potential new sites in White Marsh, Columbia and Bel Air.

In Charles Village, the bagel shop will join other eateries opening at the student housing development including PekoPeko Ramen, honeygrow and bookstore-cafe Bird in Hand.
