After stops in Washington and Philadelphia, the Taste of Three Cities is headed back home. The fourth annual festival will take place Saturday in Patterson Park. Expanding the food-truck festival to three dates in three cities was among the innovations introduced for this year's edition of Taste of Three Cities, now in its fourth year.
(The festival was called Taste of Two Cities its first two years, when Baltimore and Washington food trucks competed for the Mayor's Trophy. Philadelphia trucks were included in last year's festival.)
Also new this year: cash prizes. The truck that earns the most points in juried competitions in each city wins $2,500. The truck with the most cumulative points at the three rallies will win a $4,000 bonus prize.
Damian Bohager, one of the festival's organizers, said that four trucks are in a heated competition for the bonus prize including two barbecue trucks and ones specializing in Greek cuisine and fried cheese curds.
