Chad Gauss brought this toothsome, toffee-flavored crowd pleaser with him when he left City Cafe to open The Food Market in Hampden. Basically an adaptation of a sturdy bread pudding recipe, Gauss' pudding is laced with melted Heath toffee bars, doused with condensed-milk caramel and topped with homemade whipped cream. Spring always arrives late on restaurant menus, and this year is no different. But ramps have started to appear, on pizza and in pasta salads, and local asparagus should be widespread soon. We've started gathering up some of these dishes for your springtime enjoyment.
