This week, the big acts are Chris Brown and a pair of iconic 90s indie musicians, Jeff Mangum and Stephen Malkmus. On Monday, it's the first of Jeff Mangum's two nights at 2640, 2640 St. Paul Street. Mangum is playing few shows on his Fall tour, and Baltimore snagged two of them. Ticket purchases are limited to two per person. The one-hour show starts at 6 p.m. $27.
On Tuesday, Gunky's Basement returns to the Charles with the excellent Paul Verhoeven's "Starship Troopers." Dan Deacon and Jimmy Joe Roche will again introduce the movie. 9 p.m. 1711 N. Charles St. $5.
