A restaurant that got its start on the west side of downtown Baltimore is opening a new location this weekend near Belvedere Square.

Nailah's Kitchen will open May 7 at 5722 York Road and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, according to a spokesman for the restaurant.

The restaurant had been operating out of a temporary location at 347 N. Eutaw St. That location closed, but owner Mohammed Agbodjogbe plans to return to the neighborhood with a second location at 306 N. Howard St. after the York Road restaurant is established. The Howard Street location is expected to open in a few months.

The restaurant is also launching a food truck to supplement its brick-and-mortar locations.

Nailah's Kitchen's York Road location will serve Senegalese classics like stewed fish and shawarma wraps, in addition to American dishes such as rotisserie chicken and pizza. Specials on the menu rotate daily.

The eatery will be split into casual and fine-dining sections, with the upscale side opening in June. The fine-dining portion will include a juice bar and house a stage for live music.

Nailah's Kitchen will offer meals for carry out, and online ordering for delivery will be available within two weeks of the restaurant's opening.
