As if this Ravens season wasn't bad enough, now Maryland will have to contend with Pittsburgh-based Primanti Brothers setting up shop in the state.
According to a news release, the chain will open a Hagerstown location, its 29th, on Friday at 17301 Valley Mall. Primanti is a sandwich mainstay in Pittsburgh and other parts of Pennsylvania. Other outposts are in Ohio, Florida and West Virginia.
To sweeten the deal (or perhaps to distract Ravens fans from the fact that this thing is from PITTSBURGH), Primanti is giving away free sandwiches for a year to the first 100 customers on Friday.
"We've finally crossed the border and are excited about our first restaurant in Maryland," Primanti Bros. CEO David Head said in the news release.
Not sure how many Ravens fans would use the word "finally" about this news.
