Looking for an outdoor dining spot to enjoy the spring weather? Two Anne Arundel County restaurants are among the best ones, according to OpenTable users.
OpenTable, a website tendering online restaurant reservations and reviews, named Edgewater's Old Stein Inn and Annapolis' Severn Inn to its list of "100 Best Al Fresco Dining Restaurants in America for 2016." Restaurants across the country were selected based on more than 5 million reviews by OpenTable patrons.
Founders Karl and Ursula Selinger opened The Old Stein Inn in 1983 and later handed it down to their son, Mike, according to the restaurant's website. The Inn serves German cuisine and beers and is known for its rendition of Oktoberfest, the famous festival in Munich, which has become a local tradition. The outdoor beer garden sports a full-service bar and a canopy of stringed lights.
The Severn Inn, situated on the Eastern side of the Naval Academy Bridge in Annapolis, offers seafood, steak and a scenic view of the Naval Academy and Annapolis across Severn River from the outdoor deck.
Iron Gate in Washington, D.C. also made the top 100 list. The restaurant provides a variety of Italian, Mediterranean and Greek food and offers an outdoor dining area overhung with grapevines and wisteria.
