My Thai headed for Tack Factory, next to Heavy Seas

The new Heavy Seas Alehouse will be getting some company in the Tack Factory. The people behind My Thai have signed a lease for the space formerly occupied by Lemongrass, another Thai restaurant.

My Thai was one of three restaurants closed by the December 2010 fire at the Park Plaza building in Mount Vernon. Another of those restaurants, Indigma, relocated across the street from the Park Plaza last fall, while the owner's of Donna's have stated their intention to reopen in the Park Plaza building when its restoration is complete.

My Thai opened in the Park Plaza building in 2007, where it was operated by husband and wife restaurateurs Brad Wales and Varattaya Wales. While there's no firm word on an opening date for My Thai, a representative for the broker who managed the deal said that a June opening is targeted.
