Morning Edition, the Butchers Hill restaurant that closed July 2013 on its 30th anniversary, will be sold at auction on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. The auction is being handled by A. J. Billig & Co.
When Brian Beaven opened his Vermont-style cafe at 153 N. Patterson Park Ave., it was one of the city's first restaurants to specialize in brunch. Few Baltimoreans back then were familiar with the Butchers Hill neighborhood, much less thought of it as a dining destination.
The auction will include the three-story brick building, seven-day liquor license, fixtures and equipment, according to Charles Billig of A. J. Billig. More information about the auction is on the auctioneer's website.
