This is a puny consolation for being THIS CLOSE to the Super Bowl XLVI, but Maryland will at least have some representation at the game.

O.A.R., the Rockville jam band, and Bret Michaels, the Pennsylvania native who grew up coming to Baltimore institutions like Hammerjacks, are scheduled to play the Super Bowl Village alongside Patti Labelle, Dierks Bentley, and LMFAO, among others.

The Village is not the half-time show; that'll be Madonna this year. It's a ten-day outdoor festival that's going up in downtown Indianapolis Friday in the run-up to the Giants v. Pats game.

O.A.R., who'll perform on the Verizon Stage of the Village the Saturday before the Super Bowl, is on the road promoting last year's "King." The band will be at the 9:30 Club February 28 and 29.
Michaels, who'll be releasing album "Get Your Rock On" this year, last performed in the region at Rams Head On Stage in early December. He'll be on the Verizon Stage at the Village this Friday.
