On Tuesday, Mindless Self Indulgence returns to Rams Head Live after a three-year touring hiatus ($25). The "Occupy Your Mind Tour" featuring School Boy Humor and Rookie of the Year stops by Sonar ($10/$12). Self-described "dark lo-fi garage" dudes from Brooklyn, N.Y., Royal Baths, headline Golden West Cafe ($6). If you're in Annapolis, Ruthie Foster and Paul Thorn perform at Rams Head on Stage ($25).
On Thursday, Secret Mountains ā along with Arbouretum and Sri Aurobindo ā perform at the Ottobar ($8, a steal). Jon Anderson (yes, from Yes) performs a solo set at Baltimore Soundstage ($29.50/$35).
On Friday, the all-instrumental NOVOFEST at the Windup Space kicks off ($5 per night). Friday night features Les Rhinoceros and Beyond Say. The next day features We Used to Be Family (last show), Cavallo and more. There's a Biggie tribute at Sonar ($10). Spank Rock takes over Golden West ($12). Paula Cole, famous for singing the "Dawson's Creek" theme song, performs with the Dunwells at Rams Head on Stage ($45). Romeo Santos performs at the Patriot Center ($39.50-$89.50).
On Saturday, moe., going 22 years strong, headlines Rams Head Live ($25/$29). Dada Life performs at Baltimore Soundstage ($25). The Lemonheads, performing "It's a Shame About Ray" in its entirety, will play the Ottobar ($15). Canadian country vet Terri Clark begins a two-date set at Rams Head on Stage ($35, both nights). I interviewed Clark last week, so expect to see that feature here soon. Crowded Streets, the Dave Matthews Band tribute act, perform at Fillmore Silver Spring ($12).
On Sunday, Orgy (of "Blue Monday" cover fame) proves its existence by performing at Rams Head Live ($20).
