Four Baltimore-area chefs, including the executive chef for a family-owned farm, will be headed to New York City next month where they'll be cooking at the James Beard House, the culinary venue named for the celebrated author, educator and champion of American cuisine.

For Ben Simpkins, the executive chef for the White Marsh-based Richardson Farms, the visit is an encore. He participated in a Winter Farm Harvest Dinner at the Beard House in January 2014.

Joining him for the Baltimore Farm Fling dinner are Cyrus Keefer of 13.5% Wine Bar, who did a solo turn at the Beard House in March 2014, and Winston Blick and Matt Singer of Clementine, who will be making their Beard House debuts.

Tickets for the Aug. 5 dinner are $170. For more information call 212-627-2308 or go to jamesbeard.org/events/baltimore-farm-fling.
