The longest nightlife event this week is Insubordination Fest, which will take over the Ottobar for three days starting Thursday. The punk festival, now in its sixth year, will host some 40 bands, including, Chixdiggit, Danny Vapid and the Cheats, Fatal Flaw and others.  This year's event will mark a return to the Ottobar after a controversial stint at Sonar last year. Elsewhere this week: O.A.R., June Star, Melissa Etheridge, and Tim McGraw.

On Monday, Charm City Art Space hosts an all-punk show, with performances by The Foxtrots and Dead Ringer. 1731 Maryland Ave. 7 p.m. No cover listed.

On Tuesday, Melissa Etheridge performs at Pier Six Pavilion, 731 Eastern Ave. 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

On Wednesday,INXS and Berlin perform at Rams Head Live, 20 Market Place. The two bands were originally scheduled to play Pier Six. 7 p.m. $45.

On Thursday, Insubordination Fest kicks off with a pre-festival party at the Ottobar., 2549 N. Howard St. 6 p.m. Tickets start at $13 and $27.50 for a two-day pass. Also: Americana band June Star performs at Joe Squared. Free. Starting time not listed.

On Friday,the Sidebar hosts its regular party Reaction!, with Drugula, DJ Maxx T, DJ Amanda Otto, who will be apparently celebrating her birthday. 9 p.m. No cover listed.

On Saturday, Rockville's O.A.R. performs at Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Pkwy. Expect an interview with the band later this week. 5:30 p.m. $35.
