Johnny's Restaurant has another new face at the head of its kitchen, replacing the executive chef and co-owner who came on board six months ago.Ryan Shaffner, who most recently served as sous chef at Johnny's and fellow Foreman Wolf restaurant Pazo, was named executive chef of the Roland Park restaurant. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Shaffner began his career as a line cook at Charleston more than three years ago.Shaffner is taking over for chef David Garcia Reyes. Reyes took the helm in Johnny's kitchen in March, when he also became a co-owner of the restaurant. He was the first partner outside of owners Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf to share an ownership stake in one of Foreman Wolf's restaurants. Reyes is no longer involved with the restaurant, the group confirmed.The chef shakeup is one of a few key changes occurring within the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group. It is also rebranding Pazo, its Italian restaurant in Harbor East. The restaurant will close Sept. 17 for renovations and reopen as Bar Vasquez, an Argentinian restaurant, bar and lounge, in October.Foreman Wolf also owns and operates Charleston, Cinghiale, two Petit Louis Bistro locations, Bin 604 and Bin 201.Johnny's debuted in 2012 and is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
