I think I might be the official checkered flag guy at the Baltimore Sun. I think the Grand Prix is going to be cool! And I'm not even sure what it is!!!!
Anyway, if your restaurant is planning something for the Grand Prix, you should send it to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I'll say something about it. I've got Grand Prixver!!!
Morton's the Steakhouse will offer a new to-go item, the Prime Fuel, the restaurant's signature steak sandwich -- an 8-ounce grilled tenderloin with sautéed onions on a 6-inch ciabatta roll for $15 served with chips, or $20 served with chips, dessert, and drink. Also, the Team Baltimore race car will be parked outside of Morton's on Aug. 11 -- Morton's is one of the car's sponsors.
Frank & Nic's West End Grille has sent out a prospectus offering 'buy out, private dinner and private party options" at its Inner Harbor location, where "floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the entire restaurant and bar for the perfect view of the race, which will not be covered by advertisements or black out sheets. That got my attention. Shelby Parrish at Frank & Nic's explained to me that Frank & Nic's was promised that it's views won't be obstructed by black-out sheets. Apparently some views will be, but I can't quite picture it.
If you're buying a grandstand ticket, you should know: "Outside food and beverages will not be allowed into the venue, with the exception of one 20 oz .or smaller unopened non-alcoholic beverage per guest, or food and drink necessary for infants or medical purposes."
