Glyndon Grill is on its way.

The restaurant's co-owner John Barrett said that he hopes to have the new restaurant in the Glyndon Square Shopping Center open on Oct. 21

Glyndon Grill is taking over the space  that was Mia Carolina until earlier this year.

"We've been working feverishly to get it open," said Barrett, who co-owns both Glyndon Grill and Barrett's Grill in Hunt Valley with Michael Sipes.

Barrett said that he had been questioned about whether it was wise to open a restaurant in a space where other restaurants had failed.

"We're the right people at the right time in the right place," Barrett said. "We want to be here for the next 20 years."

Barrett said that the menu at Glyndon Grill, which will be open for lunch and dinner, will be more casual than the one at Barrett's Grill but will still focus on "chef-driven food."

Barrett said he wants Glyndon Grill to be part of the surrounding community. "We're local, independent, and we like to give back," Barrett said.
