Gino's opening March 5 on White Marsh Boulevard

Maryland's second Gino's Burgers & Chicken is scheduled to open March 5 in the White Marsh-Perry Hall area.

The new Gino's will open in the Honeygo Shopping Center, directly across from White Marsh Mall, near the intersection of White Marsh and Perry Hall boulevards.

Former Gino's executive Tom Romano engineered the current Gino's revival. A company-owned store opened in King of Prussia, Pa. in October 2010, and the first franchise operation opened in August 2011 in Towson. A third store is operating in Bensalem, Pa.

Gino's was founded in Baltimore, but the company relocated its headquarters to King of Prussia before it was acquired by Marriott Corp. in 1982. The chain fizzled out by the early 1990s, and the last Gino's, located in Pasadena and owned independently, closed in 1991.

Gino's Burgers & Chicken will have a presence at Oriole Park this year, company officials say.
