Future Islands, the Baltimore-based synth-pop act, announced on Twitter Wednesday that they will play next month's Fields Festival, the music-and-camping event in Darlington.

The band, which earned international success thanks to the breakout 2014 single "Waiting on You," joins the Baltimore-focused lineup that already includes Dan Deacon, Lower Dens, TT the Artist, Abdu Ali, Blaqstarr and more. Sun Ra Arkestra, Deakin and other artists will also perform. (Click here for the full lineup.)

The Fields Festival -- a three-day outdoor event taking placing this weekend at the 200-acre Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, Maryland -- is an eclectic, multifaceted celebration of Baltimore's always-in-motion arts scene. You likely won't find a similar experience anywhere else.

The festival takes place Aug. 19-21. Tickets are available here.

Organized by Amanda Schmidt and Stewart Mostofsky, the first Fields Festival took place at Darlington's Ramblewood campgrounds in August 2014. After taking off last year, the festival announced its return in April.
