Food trucks rally for Hopkins' United Way campaign

For the third year, Baltimore's food trucks are rallying at Johns Hopkins sites for the weeklong kick-off of the university's United Way campaigns.

It's the Food Truck Frenzy.

On Tuesday, Kooper's Chowhound, GrrChe, The Jolly Pig, Kommie Pig and Darua were among the trucks gathering on the Hopkins Homewood campus. Most of them were parked near "The Beach" at the Milton S. Eisenhower Library.

"This is an awesome way for food trucks to support the United Way of Central Maryland," said the United Way's Jeff Pratt. "having the trucks show up on such a beautiful day help us spread the word about the Access to Healthy Food Initiative."

On Wednesday, a few truck will show up at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. On Thursday, the trucks will go to Johns Hopkins Mt. Washington. And on Friday, trucks are due at Johns Hopkins at White Marsh, Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station and the Johns Hopkins Hospital at Billings Circle.
