Two Maryland beer-makers, Flying Dog Brewery and Jailbreak Brewing Company, are contributing to the Ellicott City flooding relief efforts with a new collaboration, Watershed Moment Belgian IPA, the companies announced via a press release on Friday.
Scheduled for release next week on draft and in cans around Howard County and the Baltimore-area, the beer will debut Sept. 9 at the Wine Bin and Judge's Bench in downtown Ellicott City. One hundred percent of the profits from the Watershed Moment will be donated to the Ellicott City Partnership, according to the release.
"The beauty of craft beer is being able to be creative, nimble and spring to action for incredible projects like this," said Flying Dog chief marketing officer Ben Savage, via the release. Savage is an Ellicott City native.
The beer is a hybrid of Jailbreak's Poor Righteous IPA and Flying Dog's Raging Bitch Belgian-style IPA. Jailbreak is based in Laurel, while Flying Dog is located in Frederick.
Bond Distributing and Hub Labels were also involved in the project. They will also make a donation to the Ellicott City Partnership, the release stated.
