Good news for lovers of Pappas' famous crab cakes. Pappas Cockeysville (550 Cranbrook Road, 410-666-0030) is now open, in the Cranbrook Shopping Center location where Patrick's used to be. The restaurant and sports bar, from the owners of the original Pappas in Parkville, is open daily from 11 a.m to 11 p.m.
• Donna's Charles Village (3101 St. Paul St., 410-889-3410, donnas.com) recently extended its hours. The restaurant is now open until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and until 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday. To go with the new later hours, Donna's has a new late-night menu with highlights from chef Andy Thomas' menu — mussels in white wine sauce, three-cheese cavatappi with truffle oil, and lamb meatballs with tomato sauce and dill cucumber yogurt.
• The Brewers Association of Maryland will host the 2014 Maryland Brewers' Harvest, a showcase for Maryland beer and food, on Sept. 20, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Bond Street Wharf (1417 Thames St., mdbrewersharvest.com) in Fells Point. The event will feature a sampling of over 25 Maryland-based brewing companies alongside food prepared by Maryland chefs like Bryan Voltaggio, Spike Gjerde and Rodney Henry. The event will also include the announcement of the annual Maryland Craft Beer Awards with the awarding of the Comptroller's Cup for the best overall beer in the state. General admission advance tickets for the event are $45.
