The Black Keys have been confirmed at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

The band, which just sold out the Verizon Center last week, will play Merriweather May 18. The show had been rumored, but it was confirmed this week on the venue's website. The band is promoting new album "El Camino;" tickets for the show start at $40 and go on sale Friday.

Def Leppard, which just performed at Jiffy Lube Live last year, is playing Merriweather this summer, on July 10, the band's label said this week. The show has not yet been posted on Merriweather's website; ticket information is not available. Def Leppard is promoting their first live album, "Mirror Ball."

The veteran heavy metal band Soulfly is on a 15th anniversary tour this year. They'll play the Ottobar April 30. The band just released new album "Enslaved." Tickets, at $20, are already on sale.

Another 90s heavy metal band, Korn, is playing the region this Spring: May 4 at the Silver Spring Fillmore. The band released "The Path of Totality" last year. Tickets, at $45, go on sale Friday.

Eighties rockers Styx are improbable tour-mates with Ted Nugent this year. It turns out Styx's founder Tommy Shaw formed a band with Nugent in the late 80s named Damn Yankees. They lasted for two albums.

The two of them, alongside 70s rock band REO Speedwagon, will perform at Jiffy Lube Live May 18. Tickets, starting at $20 for lawn seating, goes on sale Friday.

Merle Haggard, the legendary country music singer-songwriter, will perform in Annapolis at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts April 16. The 75-year-old, who has four decades of music to his credit, released a new album, "Working in Tennessee," last Fall. Tickets, at $70, are already on sale.

The pop-punk band Eve 6 are releasing their fourth album, "Speak in Code," this year, and will be performing at the Recher in Towson May 12 to promote it. Tickets, at $16, go on sale Wednesday.
