Concert news: The Avett Brothers, Kurt Vile, Slash, Daryl Hall, DJ Shadow, Fountains of Wayne

Now that zombie Guns 'n' Roses is on the road, Slash has decided to go on tour too.

He'll be performing at Rams Head Live May 3; Axl is at the Fillmore next week, February 23. Slash is performing with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, who collaborated with him on his upcoming album, to be released this Spring. Tickets, at $35, go on sale Friday.

Rams Head is hosting another acclaimed guitarist, Kurt Vile, March 22. He's promoting his most recent album, "Smoke Ring For My Halo." Tickets, at $18, are already for sale.

The Avett Brothers have gone from nobodies who sometimes had to hock their possessions at pawn shops to major concert draws in just a few years.

Two years ago, when they spoke with us, they headlined Pier Six Pavilion. On May 11, they'll be performing at the Patriot Center in Fairfaix.

The band will be promoting a new album to be released sometime this year; they started previewing some of the songs at their last tour, in late 2010. Tickets for the Fairfax show, at $39, go on sale February 24.

Hall & Oates' Daryll Hall is touring with his web series "Live from Daryl's House" and will perform at the Warner Theatre April 20.

The performance is supposed to be a "nu-soul revue," according to the announcement, and will feature Allen Stone and Sharon Jones. It'll be another chance for Jones to perform in the area after her performance at the Silopanna Music Festival was canceled due to the weather. Our interview with her is here. Tickets, starting at $55, go on sale Friday.

DJ Shadow, the instrumental hip hop producer, is performing at the Filmore Silver Spring March 27. He released a new album, "The Less You Know, the Better," last year. Tickets, at $30, go on sale Friday.

Indie band Fountains of Wayne is performing at the 9:30 Club April 19. The "Stacy's Mom" outfit released their last album, "Sky Full of Holes," last year. Tickets, at $25, are already on sale.
