Next year's concert announcements are already starting to roll out.

The German industrial metal band Rammstein will perform at 1st Mariner Arena, of all places, on April 25. Expect lots of pyrotechnics.

The band is promoting a greatest hits package, "Made in Germany 1995 - 2011." The band's "Sehnsucht" album, from 1997, is still the highest-selling non-English rock album, according to the RIAA. Tickets, starting at $58.80, go on sale Thursday.

PS! and by the way, a bunch of Penn State academics are looking for contributions to their upcoming scholarly volume on Rammstein, whose "oeuvre has escaped the full-scale, in-depth treatment that it undoubtedly deserves." As far as I'm concerned, writing that abstract is your weekend best bet.

Noel Gallagher, lead guitarist of Oasis, is going on tour to support his first album, "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds," since he shed those other guys.
