Chef Cyrus Keefer, who recently started his own catering and consulting business, is reviving a pop-up concept he launched last year.

The Asian-French fusion dinner series, dubbed Defie Moi (French for "dare me"), will reemerge June 15 with an event at the Food Market in Hampden.

Tickets ($100 each) for the dinner went on sale Friday. The seating is limited — only 12 tickets are available — and the event will be held in the Food Market's private kitchen.

The meal will include six courses, beer and cocktails, and Keefer will serve dishes such as escargot gayoza, stir-fried calamari and a French dip roll.

Keefer recently launched a business to provide consulting for restaurants, catering for small events, cooking classes and pop-ups.

Keefer first launched the Defie Moi concept in the basement of 13.5% Wine Bar in Hampden last fall. The next pop-ups, which will serve walk-in customers a la carte instead of ticketing, will be held at Union Craft Brewing Co. (July 1) and Ekiben (July 17).

Last year Keefer also had plans to open a small Asian-French restaurant, Pique, in Hampden. Plans for that fell through, and Keefer has since branched out on his own with a catering and events business.

Reservations for the June 15 dinner can be made by calling 410-908-1978.
