Now you can raise a glass to Ripken.
Celebrate the 20th anniversary Cal Ripken Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig's record for the most consecutive games played with a limited edition 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine, currently available for pre-orders, will benefit the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.
Axios Wine recently announced the commemorative spirit, which will come in a limited run of 2,131 numbered bottles and sold individually in wood-and-glass cases for $300. One hundred of the cases will include a Ripken signed Hall of Fame baseball, valued at $500.
The official release date of the wine is set for November 1. But pre-orders are being accepted now and will be first come, first served.
One-third of the proceeds will benefit the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, a national nonprofit providing baseball and softball-themed programs to help under-served youth in distressed American communities.
During the 7:05 p.m. Sept. 1 game at Camden Yards vs. the Tampa Bay Rays, the Orioles will honor Ripken's record anniversary. For more details about the event, go here.
