Bryan Voltaggio's second Baltimore restaurant, Family Meal, is set to open this Friday on Pratt Street in the Inner Harbor. The former "Top Chef" star opened Aggio in June at Power Plant Live.
"This restaurant is all about family," Voltaggio said in a statement. "My wife, kids and I eat together at Family Meal [in Frederick] all the time, and I'm thrilled to bring a concept that's so personal to me to the families of Baltimore. Adults will love our unique approach to classics that they may have grown up with, and kids go crazy for items on our 'Happy Campers' section."
That section features spaghetti and pomodoro, grilled cheese and chicken tenders. The regular menu will feature items such as hoecakes with pimento cheese; shrimp and grits; lobster risotto; and a soft-shell crab sandwich made with Old Bay.
Voltaggio is also the owner and executive chef of Range -- which has a meat-centered menu -- and Aggio, both of which are in Washington, D.C. He also owns Volt in Frederick. Two other Family Meal locations are slated to open later this year in Virginia.
