Ryleigh's has brought back its Valentine's Day small plates menu. All seven dishes feature at least one ingredients that has been claimed to be an aphrodisiac. Among the $10 small plate dishes are a trio of pan-seared scallops, homemade lobster ravioli and chocolate-covered strawberries.
Ryleigh's Valentine's menu will be offered on Tuesday and by request on Monday evening.
The Aphrodisiacs dinner at Joe Squared (on Market Place) on Monday night is a part of the monthly food = art series, which relocated to Joe Squared just last month. It just so happens that the hosts for this February's are Joe Squared owner Joe Edwardsen and bartender/chef/blogger David Bersch.
Each of the seven courses on Edwardsen and Bersch's menu is inspired by a reputed aphrodisiac but is not the aphrodisiac itself. And for good reason. The real thing is either dangerous (e.g. pufferfish) or really super gross (e.g. balut, look it up yourself).
You can take a look at the menu on the event's ticket page. A few additional $75 tickets were released on Sunday and may still be available.
