Animal Collective releases trippy new video for 'FloriDada'

"FloriDada," the new single Animal Collective chose to premiere at Baltimore-Washington International Airport last month, now has a video.

"FloriDada," the new single Animal Collective chose to premiere at BWI Marshall Airport in November, now has a video.

You can watch it above, but a minor warning: It depicts two figures, sans genitals, creating an offspring via what looks like some challenging yoga stretches. The news release attached to the video describes it as "an alien love story touchingly human and awash in Technicolor."

It's safe for work, we think, and fits the group's psychedelic aesthetic for certain.

The Baltimore-raised act — which consists of Dave Portner (aka Avey Tare), Noah Lennox (Panda Bear) and Brian Weitz (Geologist) — will release its 10th studio album, "Painting With," on Feb. 19, via Domino Recording Company. "FloriDada," the video of which was produced and directed by PFFR, is the first single.

The clip is scheduled to run on TV between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday during Adult Swim's Toonami block of programming.

Still no word if Animal Collective will play a Baltimore show in support of the new album. On May 10, they play Washington's 9:30 Club with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. Tickets are available here.
