Baltimore resident Andrew Michael Woods is among 40 of "the best home cooks in America" competing on the new season of "MasterChef," which premieres on at 8 tonight, May 20, on Fox with back-to-back one-hour episodes.
Woods, a native of Charleston, S.C., was not available to discuss his performance on this season's competition. But there's an encouraging sign -- he is the subject of the most prominent photo in the online press packet for the premiere episode.
Full disclosure: Woods and I are friends.
The first episode, "Let the Battle Commence," shows the 40 hopefuls presenting their signature dishes to host/judge Gordon Ramsay and judges Graham Elliott and Christina Tossi. The second episode, "The Battle Continues," follows at 9 p.m. with the top 22 contestants competing.
