R&B singer and Severn native Tamar Braxton announced her withdrawal from "Dancing With the Stars," along with her remaining tour dates with Kem, via Instagram on Wednesday. Braxton was scheduled to perform at the Lyric Opera House on Nov. 29.
Braxton made the decision because of medical attention needed for blood clots found in her lungs, she wrote on the social media app.
"After yesterday's final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn't want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don't have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.'s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs)," Braxton wrote.
The singer posted a photo of her in a hospital bed next to her "DWTS" partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
"Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER," Braxton concluded the caption.
