Bryan Voltaggio is introducing three new dining options at his Aggio restaurants in Baltimore (614 Water St., 410-528-0200, volt-aggio.com) and Washington. The options include a regional tasting menu series, a family-style Sunday supper and an expanded happy hour.
The tasting menu series, which debuts on Saturday, will shift its focus to a different Italian region every two months. The Piedmont region, famous for its truffles, is up first. The six-course Piemonte we call it Piedmont but they call it by its Italian name Tasting Menu will be available through Dec. 30 for $95.
All of the dishes at the Aggio's new Sunday supper are designed to be shared by groups of 3 or 4 guests. The Sunday supper will be served from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and there are both a la carte and prix-fixe options — the prix-fixe menu is $35 for a choice of anitpasto, pasta and secondo, or main course. The Sunday supper starts this Sunday
Options at the expanded happy hour, Tuesday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., include $9 pasta dishes including the spaghetti with pecorino Romano and black pepper and triangolo with celery root, Taleggio and smoked cipollini.
