Federal Hill favorite Abbey Burger Bistro will add a Fells Point location this fall.
Husband and wife owners, Russ and Marigot Miller, will co-own the new Abbey Burger with Jason Zink, the owner of Smaltimore, a pub in Canton. Zink confirmed that he and the Millers have signed a lease for the commercial property at 811 S. Broadway, whose previous tenant was the Willow.
The partners have applied for a liquor license transfer and hope to have Abbey Burger Bistro open in Fells Point in late September or early October.
"We're going to take the same concept and serve the same food that's made Abbey Burger Bistro so popular in Federal Hill," said Zink, who noted that he and his partners have rosy hopes for the Fells Point edition of the burger restaurant. "A lot of people in Fells Point don't go to Federal Hill and vice versa. We like the mix of locals and tourists in Fells Point.
The Fells Point location will seat about 100 customers, according to Zink, which is a slightly smaller capacity than the Federal Hill location, which opened in the fall of 2008. The Millers opened an Ocean City location in June 2013.
