Retro Baltimore Trivia: Where was the first gas street lamp in Baltimore?

Here’s the previous week’s trivia:

QUESTION: In February 1817, Baltimore was the first American city to light a gas street lamp. In August 1957, the last gas street lamp was extinguished in Baltimore and replaced by mercury vapor lamps. Can you name the location of that first gas lamp? (Note: The street names have changed, so either the old names or the current names are acceptable.)

ANSWER: The Gas Light Company lit its first lamp at Baltimore and Holliday streets — then known as Market and Lemmon — on Feb. 7, 1817.
