QUESTION: For what reason did a plane full of celebrities, including Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart and Zsa Zsa Gabor, land at Friendship International Airport in July 1972?

ANSWER: For a television benefit to raise money for flood victims of tropical storm Agnes in five states. The 6 1/2 hour telethon, dubbed the Bob Hope American Red Cross Celebrity Flood Special, was broadcast from the Morris Mechanic Theater on July 22, 1972.
