In 2015, Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old West Baltimore man is arrested by city police officers for possessing what is allegedly an illegal switchblade. Gray is transported in a police van to the Western District police station. While in police custody in the van, Gray sustains severe injuries. Paramedics are called, and Gray is transported to Shock Trauma, where he dies one week later. His death would lead to city unrest.
