As of March 1, the Lord Baltimore Hotel will allow guests to check in with their canine companions. Two floors of the hotel have rooms specially designated for pooches, with dog beds and food and water bowls.
“As a dog owner, I know how convenient it is to be able to travel with my four-legged companion and stay at a hotel that welcomes pets,” General Manager Onahlea Shimunek said in a news release. “Being able to explore Baltimore with their dogs can only enhance guests’ travel experiences.”
Guests with dogs will pay a $50 pet fee, and restrictions apply: there is a two-dog maximum per room and a total weight limit of 80 pounds. In addition, dogs must be kept on a leash while in the lobby, hallways and other common areas.
But guests also will have ample opportunity to pamper Rover and Rex.
The hotel at 20 W. Baltimore St. is located about one block from the Liberty Dog Park. And after a rousing game of fetch, Rover and Rex can chow down on dog treats baked fresh by the hotel’s staff and offered for sale in various flavors and by the pound.
