It's Baltimore Restaurant Week... for needy dogs and cats

It's Baltimore Restaurant Week -- to benefit the city's neediest dogs and cats.

This week a number of Baltimore restaurants have agreed to donate a portion from every check to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter.

Every night, one restaurant is offering the deal. Tonight it's Pierpoint in Fells Point. Here's how it works:

Tonight, Tuesday Oct. 25: Pierpoint, 1822 Aliceanna St., will donate 10 percent of the check from guests that make a reservation under the name "BARCS."

Wednesday Oct. 26: MaGerks Pub & Grill, 1061 Charles St., will donate 10 percent of all sales from 7 to 10 p.m. They'll festure $2 domestic bottles and Blue Moon drafts, $4.50 well drinks and $4 glasses of wine.

Thursday Oct. 27: Miguel's Cocina y Cantina, 1200 Steuart Street, will donate 15 percent of all sales from 5 p.m. to close. There will be specials including $5 shots where $1 from each shot goes to BARCS. Pets are welcome to dine, too, on the outdoor patio.

Friday Oct. 28: 30 East, 26 E. Cross St., will donate 15 percent from the check of guests that mention BARCS from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

Who needs a better reason not to mess up the kitchen?
