Stream HBO for free and watch the long-awaited "Game of Thrones" Season 8 debut Sunday on Comcast Xfinity, DirecTV and Verizon Fios.

You won’t need a paid subscription to binge on seven seasons of the Emmy-winning show, or to watch the anticipated opening episode of "GOT," airing at 9 p.m. Sunday. Check with your cable or satellite provider for channel numbers.

Xfinity Watchathon Week includes free previews of HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, MTV, Bravo and 70 other popular cable channels through April 14. Watch thousands of movies and TV shows for free. Catch up with Showtime's "Billions," and AMC's "Walking Dead."

DirecTV is offering free previews of HBO and Cinemax through April 14. Verizon FIOS also is offering a HBO, Cinemax, Starz (Encore), EPIX and Showtime previews. Subscribers can choose which 48 hours they want to watch for free on April 11-19.

Xfinity is celebrating "GOT" by building in fun features into its X1 Voice Remote.

The new Throne Meter feature allows fans to vote for the character they think will take the throne by saying "For the Throne" into the remote. A poll will show who they think is worthy of the crown, be it a witch, wildling, or Daenerys Targaryen herself. Then, a special character badge will be sent to your phone.

Other voice commands include "Winter is Coming," which calls up the superfan destination with special video clips, and insider footage of the show. Say "Game of Thrones," to be transported to Westeros.
