Wedded: Anna Karcher and Jesse Casler

Her story: Anna Karcher, 22, was born in Baltimore. She works as an office assistant. Her parents, Henry and Colleen Karcher, live in Baltimore.

His story: Jesse Casler, 23, was born in Lowville, N.Y. He is an information systems technician second class in the Navy. His parents, Robert and Tina Casler, live in Phelps, N.Y.

Their story: The two met in 2013 while they were working in the same department at Fort Meade. Anna, who was talking to a co-worker, spotted Jesse as he walked by.

"Immediately I said, 'He's cute.' I was in the middle of talking to someone. That person called him back to introduce us," Anna recalled.

Two weeks later, Jesse asked her if she wanted to have lunch.

Anna knew there was an instant connection.

"There was no awkwardness," she said. "Everything felt right."

She also knew she had met someone special when he offered her a bite of his food.

The two now live in Bremerton, Wash. They have a cat named Mia.

The proposal: Jesse proposed to Anna on June 7, 2014, during a camping trip in Virginia Beach, Va., that also served as a birthday celebration.

"His birthday is June 6 and mine is June 11," Anna said. "He told me he brought my birthday president. When I looked down, he was on one knee."

Anna was in disbelief.

"I started giggling and said 'Are you serious?' And then I was ecstatic," she said.

Venue: One hundred and fifty guests attended the ceremony at Halethorpe-Relay United Methodist Church and the reception at Arbutus Town Hall.

Flowers and decor: The colors of the wedding were "horizon blue" and yellow. Anna, her sisters and her bridesmaids purchased sunflowers at Costco and put together the arrangements.

Her dress: Anna wore a one-shoulder, form-fitting white gown from David's Bridal.

Bridesmaids' attire: Bridesmaids wore blue strapless, knee-length dresses from David's Bridal.

Men's attire: Jesse wore his Navy "dress whites" uniform. Two groomsmen also wore dress whites, and the other three wore tan suits from Men's Wearhouse.

Music: DJ Bruce Packal provided the music. The couple's first dance was to "Faithfully" by Journey.

Food and dessert: The Arbutus Town Hall catered the wedding. Appetizers included crab dip and assorted vegetables. Dinner consisted of chicken cordon bleu, fettuccine Alfredo, potatoes, green beans and roast beef. The couple also served a three-tier yellow cake and carrot cake cupcakes by Kim Soistman, a family friend.

Favors: The couple handed out Mason jars filled with mints as favors.

Special touches: Anna and Jesse went to Disney World for their honeymoon.
