"I was hired a few months before he was," Latya recalled. "He was going through the training program for new hires. I was helping him out with the study material."

Latya gave Kevin her phone number for him to contact her if he needed additional help studying.

"He utilized that phone number to the fullest," she said, laughing. "He asked to take me out to dinner as a thank-you for the study help."

A relationship between the two eventually blossomed.

The two live in Severn with their 6-year-old daughter, Kennedy.

The proposal: Kevin proposed to Latya on Christmas Day 2013 at her mother's home in Rochester.

"Christmas morning, everyone was opening their presents, and I thought I was done opening my gifts," Latya said. "My mother suggested I check my stocking. I was the one that stuffed the stockings, and I knew that I didn't have anything in it."

To Latya's surprise, there was a ring box in her stocking.

"When I finally realized what was going on, Kevin was in front of me on one knee," she said. "I cried. I was just in shock. I was not expecting it to happen that like that."

Venue: One hundred and fifty people attended the ceremony at Haebler Memorial Chapel on the campus of Goucher College. The reception was held at the Sheraton Baltimore North hotel in Towson.

Flowers and decor: The colors of the wedding were navy blue and lime green. The decor was inspired by a peacock feather, Latya said.

Scentsational Florists in Sykesville provided the flowers. Latya's bouquet featured blue delphinium orchids, ivory roses, green roses and hydrangeas. Bridesmaids' bouquets included hydrangeas and the green roses. The men wore green roses as their boutonnieres.

Her dress: Latya's Blue by Enzoani dress was a ivory with a fit-and-flare silhouette. The dress featured a French bustle, organza and tulle roses, and a modified sweetheart neckline. She completed the dress with a crystal sash by Mori Lee. Both were purchased at The Bridal Boutique in Columbia.

Bridesmaids' attire: Bridesmaids wore navy blue satin gowns dresses from David's Bridal.

Men's attire: Kevin wore a black tuxedo from Men's Wearhouse. Groomsmen also wore black tuxedos from Men's Wearhouse.

Music: DJ Rob Stacks from Norfolk, Va., provided the music. The couple's first dance was to "Do I Do" by Stevie Wonder.

Food and dessert: The Sheraton catered the wedding. Appetizers included crab dip, sweet and sour shrimp, and mushroom caps filled with crab meat. Dinner consisted of Caesar salad; raspberry sorbet; pan-seared chicken breasts with capers, sun-dried tomatoes and an artichoke wine sauce; oven-baked flounder stuffed with crab imperial; three-cheese risotto; and asparagus.

The couple also served a three-tiered cake with margarita and almond-raspberry layers by La Cakerie in Towson.

Favors: The couple had a photo booth, and the photo strips served as favors.

Special touches: The couple went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for their honeymoon.
